Kingsbury Ordinance Plant- An old ammunition's factory in Laporte IN
The site of the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant (KOP) is located near modern day Kingsbury, Indiana. The plant consisted of several ammunition factories and storage buildings occupying over 10,000 acres of land. It produced shells, cartridges and mortar rounds for WWII. By May of 1942, there were more than 20,000 employees working at the site. The small towns of Kingsbury and Kingsford Heights were created to house KOP workers and their families. After the war ended in August 1945, the plant began closing but it was briefly reopened in 1951 for the Korean War. The area is now zoned as an industrial park and some of the land is actively used by a handful of factories and chemical manufacturers. But there are unused portions of the park that have been abandoned since the wars. Trees have grown in strange places, roads have crumbled and buildings have been left to rot.
Selysions Private School- Private School in Cedar Lake, IN
Selysions Private School is Cedar Lake is abandoned now, but that hasn't stopped the ghosts. This small school was once an all boys school. According to legend, the pastor looking out for the boys went crazy one night and killed all of his charges. There are stories of screams and cries from inside the school, strange orbs, voices, and even the ghosts of children sitting at their desk. However many locals claim that the school closed due to a funding issue and that no one ever died there.
Barbee Hotel- 3620 North Barbee Rd, Warsaw, IN
The Barbee Hotel in Northern Indiana was a popular spot for Chicago gangsters to get away from the city in the 1920's. One of the guests was none other than Al Capone himself.
It is believed that many of these gangsters returned to the hotel in death. Staff members have reported seeing an old man sitting in a booth after closing. When staff members talk to him there is no response. Thinking they are dealing with an unruly customer they leave to get assistance. However, upon returning the bar is empty and no one has seen anyone leave.
One legend states that the hotel was a popular place that gangsters took their girlfriends to. One gangster however took the girlfriend of another gangster. She was then murdered in the hotel by the jealous thug. People have reported that they hear her wailing at night and they feel cold spots generating from the area.
Other phenomena includes the appearance of faces in photographs taken at the hotel, and more commonly orbs.
Around the hotel itself is a popular place to see orbs and apparitions.
